The Angelina County Senior Center is the home away from home for many senior citizens in Angelina County that enter our doors each day. The Center was founded in 1975 by a group of dedicated seniors who saw the need of our senior population and set out to develop a plan of action to meet those needs. The Center is designed to be a place of fellowship, fun and balanced nutrition.

We offer a variety of daily activities that include crafting classes, exercise, Gospel singing, educational opportunities, bingo and “42” games along with numerous other special events. In addition, we provide daily meals from 11:00 a.m. until 12 noon each weekday here at our Lufkin Center location as well as our Huntington Center location for those participants that attend.

The Meals on Wheels programs for Angelina, Tyler and San Augustine counties are also made here in the kitchen of the Senior Center and we currently provide meals for approximately 750 seniors across these counties utilizing a total of eleven delivery drivers. The meals delivered to our homebound seniors are pivotal in the health and well-being of those we serve.



It is the goal of our Center and our staff to ensure that no senior citizen goes without food and the ability to have human interactions. There are times that our staff are the only human interaction that some of our clients have with others and because of that it is important that we stay devoted to our mission to serve those that have served the generations before them so well. It is with great honor and privilege we stand with the seniors of our county and provide for them the best quality of life and nutrition there is to offer.
